Type Alias: Integrator

Integrator = "euler" | "rk4"

Numerical scheme used to trace a streamline through the field.

  • 'euler': first-order explicit Euler. The historical default. Fast, but it drifts on curved flows (a rotational field spirals outward).
  • 'rk4': classical fourth-order Runge-Kutta. Four evaluations per step and far smaller truncation error, so a closed orbit stays closed.
